La Casa Colonica is an old farmhouse located in one of the most beautiful valleys of Umbria. Vernazzano is a small town on the border between Umbria and Tuscany, close to Lake Trasimeno. It is surrounded by gentle hills, woods, olive groves, vineyards and farm fields. La Casa Colonica offers you a vacation in a familiar atmosphere, where you can taste lots of locally grown products such as jams, oil, Tuscan and Umbria wines produced by Stefania Mezzetti. We also have an area with farm animals that kids will love : horses, donkeys, ponies and little goats!
La Casa Colonica is a farmhouse that the Mezzetti Family bought and renovated at the end of 1990s. There are 9 apartments, each one with a private entrance. They are all furnished in rustic style, with great attention to detail and with every comfort you can think of. Independent heating, kitchenware, bed sheets and towels, TV and an external area that only guests can use, with a table, chairs and a swimming pool sunbed. Outdoors, near the swimming pool, we have a brick barbecue that our guests can use for every occasion. Explore the farmhouse and book your stay!
Stefania Mezzetti is the owner of La Casa Colonica. She is ready to welcome you with her character…
Nicola Sportoletti is the sommelier of Vini Mezzetti. He has been Stefania’s friend for a long time, and he is so passionate about his work…
Charming place just 1 km away from Lake Trasimeno. Stefania’s cheerfulness is contagious. Peaceful and quiet, the indoor spaces are large and the surrounding grounds as well. Wine and fresh water when you get there. Indoors, the house has been completely renovated. The swimming pool is great for kids and grown-ups, large spaces to enjoy the surrounding lawn, gazebos, outdoor kitchens. All of this is surrounded by the owner’s vineyards and olive groves, immersed in complete silence and relax. With Stefania’s welcome and Francesca’s taste in choosing the indoor furnishings, our short stay has been really pleasant.

Just beautiful. Great location to go sightseeing. Lots of greenery and silence. Nearby, you can find everything (grocery stores, coffee bars, restaurants, hospital, places to visit), therefore you don’t need to bring much with you, even if you are staying in an apartment and not a hotel.

This is the largest lake in central Italy. When you visit the three islets on the lake, you can immerse yourself in a welcoming and romantic atmosphere, especially at sunset.
At only 20 minutes drive from La Casa Colonica, Perugia’s historic centre (centro storico) is worth being visited. This is the perfect town for medieval architecture enthusiasts…or chocolate lovers!
